Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, date of birth, phone number, community details (sub-caste, gothram, nakshathiram, raasi), education, occupation, and photos. We also collect usage data such as profiles viewed and interests sent, to improve match recommendations.

2. Identity Verification

We verify your identity using your mobile phone number (OTP). No government ID is required or stored.

3. Photo Privacy

You choose who can see your photos. During setup — and any time from your profile settings — you pick one of four levels: show to all members (default), show only to profiles you have exchanged interest with, show only on mutual match, or keep completely hidden. No one can bypass your chosen setting.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To show your profile to compatible users in our matching algorithm
• To calculate Porutham compatibility scores
• To send you notifications about matches, interests, and messages
• To verify your identity and prevent fake profiles

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with: Firebase (authentication), AWS S3 (photo storage), and payment processors (Razorpay/Stripe) when applicable. All providers are bound by data processing agreements.

6. Your Rights

You can update or delete your data at any time from My Profile → Settings. Account deletion permanently removes your profile and messages within 30 days. You may request a copy of your data by emailing us.
